SSG recently partnered with Asplundh Tree Expert in an executive search to find and place its new Vice President of Labor Relations, David Gillis.

Mr. Gillis brings nearly 30 years of labor relations and human resources experience gained in the grocery and non-profit sectors. His expertise includes strategic guidance, career and workforce development, risk avoidance, union relations, grievance /arbitration, collective bargaining, labor law, union-management trust fund management, labor relations training, HRIS, payroll, benefits, and all other aspects of human resources.
Most recently, Mr. Gillis served as Vice President of Labor Relations for the American Red Cross. Prior to this role, he held several labor relations and human resources roles for Ahold USA. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gillis held labor relations positions with The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company and The Penn Traffic Company.
Mr. Gillis holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Montclair State University.
